Freshbooks has made our lives a lot easier when invoicing.  I was using Quickbooks Billing solutions for about 3 years before discovering Freshbooks.  You can create invoices from any computer and easily track expenses.  They also have an app for the iPhone called "Mini Books" which allows you to create invoices, estimates, track time billed, etc.  In addition, they have a lot of plugins like BaseCamp, Less Accounting and many others.  This has been a great option for us especially when working from multiple workstations.
